HIMCR Challenge #147: Mother's Day

Hello Crafty Friends!

It's Saturday, which means it is time for another challenge at Hiding in My Craftroom! This weeks challenge is Mother's Day. This can be any kind of project like a card, tag, scrapbook page, etc. It just has to say something about Mother's. :)

Our sponsor this week is:

The prize is a $7 gift certificate!

Here is the card that I came up with using an image from Pickled Potpourri.

This card is actually for my grandmother because my mom (Lena's Creations) and I are on the same design team! So since she get's to view this card early, it can not be for her! Hehe.

This card was made with purple paper from my stash. The patterned paper at the bottom is from a paper pack set from Gina K. called Wisteria Lane. The image was colored in with spectrum noirs and the colors used were HB1, HB2, and HB3.

If you need some inspiration for this challenge head on over to Hiding in My Craftroom to check out what the other team members came up with as well! Now it's your turn! Join in the fun and don't forget to link your project to Hiding in My Craftroom, Challenge # 147 - Mother's Day.

Have fun!

Just a Quick Note

Hello Crafting Friends!

Last week I received a little note card from my best friend's younger sister (she is 11). It was just the sweetest thing! So I made this card to send back to her.

The papers are all from my stash but the ivory is embossed with Paper Studio's Butterflies. The pink paper was cut with Spellbinder's Floral Ovals and the Sentiment was cut with Spellbinders Ribbon Banners. The butterflies were punched out with a Martha Stewart punch, I do not recall the actual name of it. The teddy bear is from the Friends Forever Spring Time decoupage set.

Anyhow, I hope she likes it. :)

Easter Card #5

Hello Crafty friends!

This is my last Easter card for this year! I had to wait for this one to be recieved in Holland before I was able to debut it!

This is my last little guy to display from the Decoupage pack that I have been talking about! Such a cute and fun set to work with. I love all the dimensions that are given with this set.

The papers, ribbons, and buttons are all from my stash.

I used the Martha Stewart Punch All Over the Page - Crochet Flower to create the background for this sweet little card.

Enjoy!

Happy Easter!! - Easter Card #4

Happy Easter all my Crafting Friends!

The card that I share with you today is the one that I made for my parents. Since my Mom (Lena's Creations), is on blogger just as much as I am, I was unable to post this until now! :)

This card is made with that wonderful decoupage set that I was talking about the other day! The little teddy bear, and sentiment came from the Spring Time set from Forever Friends.

The purple paper is Bazzil although I do not remember the name, and the Easter Egg paper came from Paper Studio's All Season II pack.

Keep an eye out for my last Easter card. :) Hope everyone is having a wonderful day!

Easter Card #3

Hello (again) Crafty Friends!!

I was originally going to post this card on Friday, but I am posting this card a little early because there are a few challenges that I am entering it into. :)

I could not get the colors to photograph correctly, so this is the best I have. In actuality it is a lot more pastel than what is pictured. Anyhow, all the papers are from my stash, the stamp was borrowed from my mom and I do not have a clue what the name of it is. The die I used was by Marianne Creatables called Anja's Square. The button brads are from my stash, and as always colored with my Spectrum Noirs. :)

This card is being entered into the following challenges:

Enjoy!

Easter Card #2

Hello crafting friends!

I have a total of five Easter cards that I will be sharing with you, as promised. Here is the second one! :)

This card I made for my husband so I tried to limit how much pink and purple I put in it. :)

This card was created with the Cottage Cutz Sugar Egg with Cottage Impression Stamps. This was a fun die, and the possibilities with this one are endless!

The green zig-zag paper is from the Paper Studio All Seasons II pack. The rest of the paper, string, and button are from my stash.

The sentiment and cute little chicks are from a Decoupage Set that I received from my Aunt in The Netherlands. It is called Spring Time by Forever Friends. I'm not sure if we do get stuff like this in America, but I haven't seen it?! These little chickens were a lot of fun to put together because it was something different! Check out my other cards coming up this week because I used more of this Decoupage set!

Easter Card #1

 Hello Crafting Friends!

With Easter being this coming up weekend, I thought that I would start sharing with you my Easter cards for 2014! Two of my Easter cards will only be up on the Monday after Easter, as they are going to family who view my blog! :)

The first one that I want to share with you is the one I made for my Grandmother. She is a very religious person, and therefore I thought this would be perfect for her!

For this card I used paper and ribbon from my stash. The sentiment and image came from the Easter Blessing Just Rite Stamp Set. The image was cut out using the Nested Oval Medallions also by Just Rite. I then rounded of my project with a few mists from the Glitter Mist spray to give it that extra sparkle. Look for my other Easter cards this week! :)

The Liebster Award

It is becoming a scary reality that in roughly 8 weeks my baby girl will be here! My husband and I are very excited, and nervous, as this is our first baby. I've been spending a lot more time in my hobby room lately (YAY!) because 1) It requires more brain power than physical movement (that's a major plus this far into my pregnancy) and 2) I just recently got invited to join a design team and I have been so excitedly putting different projects together.

However, today I got a fun surprise!! One of my DT members, Gracie, has nominated me for a Liebster Award! Thank you so much! Your support, and kindness means a lot!

The Liebster Award helps bring awareness to blogs with less than 300 followers.

Rules for participating in the Liebster Award nominations:

Here's my list of questions for my nominees to answer:
1) When did you start stamping?
2) Name one blogger on your reading list.
3) Cat or Dog?
4) Orderly or messy?
5) Favorite way to color?
6) Favorite creation?
7) Pet peeve?
8) Favorite vacation spot?
9) Favorite movie?
10) Best day ever?
11) Other hobby besides stamping?

(Christine please apply this questions to your blog's subject)

Here are my answers to Gracie's questions!

1) When did you start stamping?
I just stamping around 2011 sometime, and I have enjoyed it ever since!

2) Name one blogger on your reading list.

Gina K. Designs, I just love their stamps. They have such a variety. I have learned many new techniques through her demonstrations.

3) Cat or Dog?

If you would have asked me about a year ago I would have said that I am a dog lover! Big, small, and everything in between. I have grown up with dogs my entire life and I have two labs of my own. Dogs hold a special place in my heart. However, last Christmas I surprised my husband with a kitty (He's a cat person) and I just adore that little girl as well. So in short, I suppose BOTH!

4) Orderly or messy?

Orderly for sure, I'm slightly particular when it comes to my hobby room. I can't think or see straight with a mess. Hehe. Usually after I'm done making one card, I clean everything up and then start over.

5) Favorite way to color?

Alcohol Markers. I bought my Spectrum Noir set towards the end of 2012 and I use them on almost EVERY project I make. According to my mom, I have always loved coloring so it's not a huge shocker. :)

6) Favorite creation?

That's a difficult one because if I don't like one of my creations, I usually throw it away. hehe. I guess my wedding invitations would be pretty high up on the list though. I got to design and create these with Lena's Creations and that was a lot of fun.

7) Pet peeve?

I absolutely cannot stand repetitive noises. Like a constant dripping tap, or a clicking noise, or a pen tapping, etc. It drives me up the walls.

8) Favorite vacation spot?

From the places that I have been to, I would have to say Jamaica. My husband and I went there on our honeymoon and I have been dying to go back ever since.

9) Favorite movie?

Another tough question because I don't just have one answer. I do love Dirty Dancing and Pretty Woman. Two of my all time favorites!

10) Best day ever?

As of right now, I would have to say our vow renewal last year. We were finally able to get all friends and family involved and it was just such a wonderful, blissful day. I got to say "I do" to my hubby twice. :)

11) Other hobby besides stamping?

I really, really enjoy baking and cake decorating! Something that also lets me be creative.

It is an honor to have been selected for this award chain, and I hope you all learned a little bit about me.  :) Thank you again to Gracie, and all my friends, family, and followers for the support.

Rustic Wedding Invitations

Hello all!

Today I bring to you a project that is really out of my comfort zone. I have a really good friend who approached me, and asked if I would make her wedding invitations. Of course anything that gets me into my hobby room, I say yes to! :)

She had told me that the wedding has a farm-like, wooded, rustic feel to it. As most of you can see from my previous cards, this seems a little out of my element but I was like a challenge! With a few tweaks here and there, this is what I came up with and she was ecstatic with the result. She had said it was better than what she imagined! WHEW! Thank goodness!

I would also like to add a side note here! Please check out my new signature and watermark on the pictures! I am so excited to have them! A gal on the DT that I just recently became a part of, designed them for me and they are exactly what I wanted! Thanks again Gracie!!!

So without further ado here are the pictures:

The picture above shows the invitation as soon as you pull it out of the envelope. The belly band has their initials on it along with the date of the wedding!

The picture above shows what the invitation looks like when you open it for the first time, and as you can see there's a folder at the top with more fun goodies!

This picture shows you the invitation when it's completely open. She had requested to include a "Directions & Attire" section which is the kraft paper above the belly band. The RSVP card is the white card with the little graphic on it.

So what do you all think???

Frou Frou Girls

Hello all!

Quick post for the day! I wanted to share a card that I had made.

My aunt's birthday was yesterday, and this is the card that I came up with for her! I used the Frou Frou Love Letters stamp set by Crafter's Companion. I have most of that collection because I just think they are GREAT! They are so much fun to work with and the possibilities are endless.

What do you all think?

Enjoy!
Samantha :)

HIMCR Challenge # 144: Black & White + 1

Hello all my crafty friends! I am excited to announce that I was recently selected to be a part of Hiding in My Craft Room's Design Team! This is my first challenge as a DT member, which for this week is to create a project using Black & White plus one other color.

Our sponsor this week is Blue Moon Creation.

The prize is digis!

Here is the card that I made using Blue Moon Creation's Digi Stamp.

Honey is sweet, just like your birthday should be! So what better way to say Happy Birthday, than with the little creatures who create the honey! I used the Provocraft Honeycomb embossing folder to create the honeycomb background. I printed the digital image on white card stock and then used the Spellbinders Picot Circles to cut the image out. I then used Cantaloupe Mementos Dew Drop Ink to lightly shade the center of the circle. The second bee was printed twice and pop dotted, so that I could add a little dimension to the card. If you need some inspiration for this challenge head on over to Hiding in My Craftroom to check out what the other team members came up with as well! Below is a list of the NEW DT over at Hiding in My Craftroom! Check them out, they are all so creative and inspirational! Now it's your turn! Join in the fun and don't forget to link your project to Hiding in My Craftroom, Challenge # 144 - Black & White +1.

Happy Birthday Mom!

Whew! March was a busy month for us! My brother turned 18, my grandmother celebrated her birthday in the U.S with us, it was our 4 year Anniversary, and yesterday was my mother's birthday! It was a wonderful way to bring March to and end. :) So this is the card that I came up with for her. If most of you don't know, Lena's Creations, is my wonderful mother!

I created this card using Gina K.'s Arranged with Love stamp. Boy was it a lot of coloring but was it a blast to do! I think she liked it and overall I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out! I just LOVE my Spectrum Noirs. I'm sure most of you have figured that one out by now. :)

The papers are all from my stash, and so was the ribbon. I ended up putting the little rhinestones on the corner of the card, and ribbon to jazz it up a little bit!

Enjoy!
Samantha
