HIMCR Challenge # 180: Freestyle - Anything but Christmas

Happy Saturday fellow Crafters I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas filled with joy, warmth, and loved ones.

Can you believe it's the last Saturday of the year?!?! Where in the world did 2014 go to?? So, here is our last challenge for the year over at Hiding in My Craftroom!

The challenge this week is Freestyle - Anything but Christmas!

Our sponsor this week is: Hiding in My Craftroom

hidinginmycraftroom.com

The giveaway is TBA!

I figured since Thanksgiving just happened about a month ago, I would share these cute little things I made since I hosted Thanksgiving this year. :)

Aren't they cute?!? Emma is my beautiful little daughter who was just born this past June. Since she isn't old enough to share our wonderful Thanksgiving dinner the least I could do is buy a Baby Gerber Turkey dinner and a Vanilla Pudding for dessert! hehe AND of course put her own little name placard on her high chair. :)

This is a little "Truffle Chocolate Box" which is a cut file that I purchased from the Silhouette Store. I found a sampler pack of the Ferrero Rocher Chocolates which included:

White Cream and Coconut - YUM
Milk Chocolate & Hazelnut - YUM
Dark Chocolate & Hazelnut with chocolate sprinkles - DOUBLE YUM!

So I divided the chocolates up into these sweet little treat boxes and placed them at the table with each person's name placard.

These cute little turkey name placards are also a cut file from the Silhouette store. I thought these were just so cute that even though we don't host fancy Thanksgiving Dinner Parties, these would be a cute addition to our Family gathering.

If you need some inspiration for this challenge head on over to Hiding in My Craftroom to check out what the other team members came up with as well! Now it's your turn! Join in the fun and don't forget to link your project to HIMCR Challenge # 180: Freestyle - Anything but Christmas.

HAPPY NEW YEAR & SEE YA'LL NEXT YEAR!

Two More Christmas Cards!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas!!

Now that everyone has received their Christmas Cards I can share the last two cards I made!

This one I made for my aunt since she LOVES cats!

I thought this image was just the cutest!! I used scraps of Christmas Paper left over from my stash and Gold Card Candi's to complete this lil darling!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This one is a card I made for my dad. I swear I struggle so hard to make cards for guys! I have this natural instinct to want to put glitter and flowers on everything lol!

I used a Silhouette Cut File to create this card. Overall it was easy to put together and I think it looks great!

The original white layer said "Happy Holidays" so I changed it to say Merry Christmas and I also changed the font.

Enjoy!! Stay tuned for my last post of the year tomorrow with a brand new challenge from Hiding in my Craftroom!

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas Crafty Friends!

I"m going to keep this short and sweet, but I thought that I would share a Christmas card I made for my mom! I love that she is just as crafty ( or even more so) than I am because I know she understands and appreciates all the hardwork that goes into making a card like this. Boy, oh boy did this image take me a few hours to color in but I think it was totally worth and by far my favorite card I made this year!

Here it is:
Here's an overview of the completed card. I just LOVE the way it came out! The image is called Angel of Christmas Stars by Conie Fong which I bought through SweetPea Stamps a while ago but never had the chance to color her in!

This flower arrangement is made with a variety of flowers all from Wild Orchid Crafts. I just recently found this company and placed a rather large order not to long ago when they were having a special on their shipping. :)

The Crystal Ball with the Poinsettia has Glossy Accents on it to really make it stand out

Beautiful Corner I ordered from Wild Orchid Crafts

Close up on the image

I just love how this card came out and I hope you all do too!

I hope you all have a very Merry Christmas that is filled with joy, love, and family.

Christmas Card

Hello there!!

So there are a few Christmas Cards that I made for family that I wanted to share with you all. Therefore, today, tomorrow, and next day I will be sharing a couple of Christmas cards that I made!

This one I created with an image I received from a sponsor earlier this year. It's by Bugaboo Stamps and I just LOVED this image so much that I knew I was going to have to make another card with this sexy little elf fairy!

So here she is:

I used:
- Spectrum Noir Markers to color in this image
- Gelly Roll Stardust Pen
Snow Papers - Stash
Glossy Accents - On the Ornaments
Sentiment - Computer Generated

All of a sudden I have an obsession with square cards! Lol Probably because I just recently learned that I can make square envelopes with my Martha Stewart Scoring Board. :)

1 day until Christmas! EEK!!

Theme/Stash: A YEAR TO REMEMBER
This challenge is SUPER easy! All you have to do is link up your favorite creation from 2014! (Yes, backlinking is okay for this challenge!)  This challenge will last TWO weeks and will be end on January 6, 2015.

Our sponsors this week are:

*This store is closing on January 31, 2015 - Check out their amazing sales going on now!*

I used a wonderful image set from DeeDee's Digis called "Pink Christmas" which you can pick up in their store right now for $0.75!!!

Here's the finished card! I feel like my coloring skills are improving and I'm hoping to start taking Kit & Clowder Coloring Classes pretty soon!

How cute is this Santa Flamingo?

Difficult to see but I used a GellyRoll Star dust pen to make the lights sparkle.

I got sick of this rainy, cold (ish) weather here in Texas and decided to create something Tropical and Warm! When I used to live in South Africa, we celebrated Christmas in the middle of Summer - So I suppose you can say I was reminiscing of a warm Christmas! :)

The following items were used to create this card:

Yellow, Blue, Tan Papers - Stash
Bronze Silhouette Sketch Pen
Sun & Waves Cut Files - Silhouette Online Store
Snow Marker
Stardust Pen
Spectrum Noir Markers
- The Palm Tree was created using the Palette Blending Technique

Faery Ink DT Call!

Hello there friends!

** UPDATE** - I must have been a very good girl this year because I got my Light Tent EARLY!! WOO HOO!!

Today I'm sharing a card that I made for the Faery Ink DT Call!

DT Call!

Have you visited the Faery Ink Store? If not you should rush right on over (after you've seen my project of course! :)) and have a look at the wonderful images that Amanda designs!

She has something for everyone and in a variety of categories. There is also this wonderful link on her website in which, if you sign up for the newsletters you get a FREE digital image! How great is that?! The image that I used for this creation is the one I received.

So here is the Christmas Card I created using the image: Mug of Love Gratitude

I used the following items to create this card:

Red & Green Papers- Recollections Sugar Plum Paper Pack
Glittery White Paper - ColorBok
Gold Paper - Scraps/Stash
Mug of Love Gratitude - Digital Image Faery Ink
Spectrum Noir Markers
Clear Star - Gelly Roll Pen
White Ribbon - Offray
Green Card Candi's
Silhouette - To cut the digital image & sentiment

So here's a bit about myself:

My name is Samantha and I have been crafting ever since I was a little girl, however, the stamping, coloring, and card-making started about 5 years ago.

My mom had a Cricut Expression and I just thought it was the coolest thing since sliced bread - so "Santa" got me one for Christmas that year and I was HOOKED! I started exploring with all kinds of electronic cuts, embossing (in all way shapes and forms), coloring, stamping (both rubber and digital) and I just LOVE every minute of it. Some people exercise, get massages, pedicures and what not to relax...me? I CRAFT! It's my escape and I spend as much time in my wonderful hobby room (that my hubby put together for me) that I can.

I have a 6 month old daughter and she has a Baby Einstein bouncer that she jumps/bounces in with me while I craft. I can't wait until she get's old enough to "play" along with me. :) She will be a future crafter too!

I enjoy trying all kinds of new products, papers, mediums, styles, and techniques and I believe that this type of hobby is ever evolving and changing - which I find FUN! I finally feel that I have reached pretty decent coloring skills and submitted my test to Spectrum Noir for Accreditation!

I would love to be apart of what seems like a very friendly helpful, and amazingly talented group of ladies. I like to keep busy, and hate being bored - my creative juices seem to ever flowing! Something I'm sure most crafting people can understand. :)

Currently I am on two design teams, and I'm a DT coordinator for a challenge blog I recently started.

Thank you so much for your consideration and good luck to all the other applicants!
