HIMCR Challenge # 144: Black & White + 1

Hello all my crafty friends! I am excited to announce that I was recently selected to be a part of Hiding in My Craft Room's Design Team! This is my first challenge as a DT member, which for this week is to create a project using Black & White plus one other color.

Our sponsor this week is Blue Moon Creation.

The prize is digis!

Here is the card that I made using Blue Moon Creation's Digi Stamp.

Honey is sweet, just like your birthday should be! So what better way to say Happy Birthday, than with the little creatures who create the honey! I used the Provocraft Honeycomb embossing folder to create the honeycomb background. I printed the digital image on white card stock and then used the Spellbinders Picot Circles to cut the image out. I then used Cantaloupe Mementos Dew Drop Ink to lightly shade the center of the circle. The second bee was printed twice and pop dotted, so that I could add a little dimension to the card. If you need some inspiration for this challenge head on over to Hiding in My Craftroom to check out what the other team members came up with as well! Below is a list of the NEW DT over at Hiding in My Craftroom! Check them out, they are all so creative and inspirational! Now it's your turn! Join in the fun and don't forget to link your project to Hiding in My Craftroom, Challenge # 144 - Black & White +1.

Happy Birthday Mom!

Whew! March was a busy month for us! My brother turned 18, my grandmother celebrated her birthday in the U.S with us, it was our 4 year Anniversary, and yesterday was my mother's birthday! It was a wonderful way to bring March to and end. :) So this is the card that I came up with for her. If most of you don't know, Lena's Creations, is my wonderful mother!

I created this card using Gina K.'s Arranged with Love stamp. Boy was it a lot of coloring but was it a blast to do! I think she liked it and overall I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out! I just LOVE my Spectrum Noirs. I'm sure most of you have figured that one out by now. :)

The papers are all from my stash, and so was the ribbon. I ended up putting the little rhinestones on the corner of the card, and ribbon to jazz it up a little bit!

Enjoy!

Manly Card - Need for Speed

In case you have not already noticed, I use the Need for Speed stamp set by Stamping Up! for many of my male cards. This set is perfect for just about any guy! I also make it a challenge for myself to see how many different designs I can create with the same stamp set. Here is my newest one! I used red, yellow, and green papers from my scraps to symbolize a traffic light. Originally when I cut the circles for the light I thought that it looked to plain, so I spiced it up using different Cuttlebug Folders. The Red cardstock is embossed with "Roman Bath", the Yellow cardstock is embossed with "Swiss Dots", and the Green cardstock is embossed with "Gears". The road at the bottom was cut from the Everyday Paper Dolls cartridge. I used IG8, IG6, IG4, & IG2 (Spectrum Noir) to create the gray color on the car.
Enjoy! :)

Happy Anniversary!

Four years ago I married a wonderful man! We've been through quite a bit these last four years, but I know that it just makes us stronger. From being medically discharged from the military to expecting our first baby in June, I can already see life has a lot in store for us and I can't wait for the wild ride.

This is the card that I made for my lovely hubby!

The red paper is from a stack called Immortal Love and the black paper is just embossed with Divine Swirls. The image is called "Christmas Kiss" although I cut out the mistletoe to fit the occasion. :)  The flowers and ribbon are from my stash.

Enjoy!

Birthday Elephant (Inky Antics)

I think the Inky Antics cards are always so much fun to make! The Honey Pop paper in the middle just adds so much to the inside of the card and it is a fun surprise as well. This set is called Birthday Elephant. I used my Spectrum Noir's to color this little guy in and used the Yellow Honey Pop paper for the balloon in the center. For the sentiment in the middle I used the Spellbinder's Picot Circles.
Enjoy! :)

Try Fold Garden

I used the Art Impressions stamp set titled "Garden" to create this wonderful little card. I used my Spectrum Noir markers to color this fun card in. The squirrel is an addition I added from the "Furries" stamp set also from the Try Fold collection by Art Impressions. I put the little squirrel on a pop dot, not that you can really tell from this picture. I punched out the little pink flowers and glued them to the card in order to add some volume. Overall I'm happy with the way the card came out. :)
Enjoy!

The Lake House

This weeks challenge at Hiding in my Craftroom, is Color It! I bought my spectrum noir markers a little over a year ago and I use them ALL THE TIME! I just love them so much! I used the Art Impressions Try Fold stamp set titled "Lake House" to create this card. These are a lot of fun to make, and give the card depth. I also have the "Garden" stamp set, so watch out for that card coming soon. :) Enjoy!

A Simple Thank You

This is a card that I just put together and it was so simple! The swirls are done with a Cuttlebug embossing folder called Divine Swirls. Then I just used colored card stock in my stash to put the layers together. I used a recollections punch to put the little white flower in the corner with a gemstone and bingo! This sweet and simple card was put together.

18th Birthtday

My "baby" brother just turned 18 yesterday! This is the card that I made for him. I used a bunch of scraps from my stash, and combined it with the Wild About You stamp set from Gina K. Conveniently, the challenge at Hiding in my Craft Room this week is scraps. Therefore I have entered it in! :)

Chloe's Little Light

Hello Friends!

So I have yet again, purchased ANOTHER Whimsy Stamp. I'm starting to think I need "Stamps Anonymous" or something. TeeHee. It's an addiction!

This one is called Chloe's Little Light and it's just ADORABLE!

Here it is:

So sweet right?! I added a Poinsettia because I thought it would go perfectly in that corner. I'm still working on my coloring, but hopefully I will get it SOON!

Thanks for stopping by!

Classic Witch - Halloween

I realize that it is November 1st, and that this card is a day late...but... I was not able to post this until my family received it. They really liked it, and I had a lot of fun making it as well. I used the "Classic Witch" from Cottage Cutz to create this card. I also used the Drippy Goo from MS at the bottom of the card. The grey paper is from a MAMBI Halloween Mat Stack. The sentiment is from the Inky Antics Halloween Frog stamp set. (The entire sentiment says: "Brewing up wishes... for a toad-ally fun Halloween")

Paper Play Time - Googlie Eyes
 Cardz TV - Happy Halloween
The Paper Shelter - Halloween
 Craftin' Desert Divas -Anything Goes

Another Need for Speed

October is overwhelming male birthdays for me! I'm so thankful for this stamp set because I like to see how many differnt cards I can ceate using the same image. It's quite fun! The papers are from DCWV called the Guy Stack. The Spellbinder used was Labels 9. I used the Teal Zeal Memento Dew Drop ink to stamp the image and sentiment. Enjoy!

Popcorn Bear Birthday Hugs

This is a card I created for a girl friend's birthday this weekend. She's not very much into pink, so I went with teal and purple. This stamp is from Crafter's Companion and is called Popcorn Bear Birthday Hugs. So stinking cute! I re-colored the bow and used a pop dot to make it stick out. The papers are from a paper pack by Recollections called Bold Basics. Hope you like!

Need for Speed

I just love the Need for Speed stamp set by Stamping Up! I have created a variety of male cards using it. I find that sometimes male cards can be challenging, but with this stamp set it makes it pretty easy. Here are two separate cards made with the same stamp. I really like how they both came out!

Purple Themed Wedding

This summer my husband and I were invited to his cousin's wedding, which took place in Kansas. I was asked to make the cake, and if you head to My Cake Blog, you can see the cake there. It was themed purple and white. By using the Sweet Life stamp and die set, I created the following card:

50th Anniversary!

One of my husband's great aunt & uncle are going to celebrate 50 years of marriage! What a truly special thing to celebrate. Since 50 year anniversaries are golden themed, I went with this gold themed card. I used the cricut to cut out the "50" and the Gina K. stamp set for the wedding couple. I'm really pleased with how it turned out!

21st Birthday!

My husband's cousin just recently turned 21! She's not a very "girly girl" so I went with some greens, blues, and grey. Still feminine, but not overly pink and girly. :) I hope she likes it!

Shoppe Girl

Crafter's Companion recently came out with these Frou Frou stamps, and I just adore them!! What girl doesn't love to shop, right? So for one of my friends' birthday's I decided to use this sweet stamp coordinated with her favorite colors. I'm pretty pleased with how it came out and I'm sure she will be too!

Western Girl Birthday

Being from Texas, I guess I am a little biased on Western Themed card. I just think they're adorable! My husbands aunt is from Kansas and really likes that kind stuff, so what better theme to make her birthday card of? I'm really trying to get ahead of schedule with Birthday cards because they have a tendency to sneak up on me. So here is my August Birthday card! :) I got the insipiration for this from my wonderful mother! (Lena Fonkert).

Ducky & Tulip Inky Antics

I went to a store recently, called Archivers, that had these Inky Antics on sale. I've been wanting to try them for a while but thought they were a little pricy especially since the HoneyPOP paper is sold separately. However, since they were on sale I decided to try these adorable little guys. This card I made for my aunt who lives in Portugal and I hope she likes it.

Nature Scene

My dad turns the big 6-0 this year! He paints portraits as a hobby and so when I saw this stamp by Sheena Douglass, I knew that this would make the perfect birthday card for my dad. His birthday isn't until the middle of June but for the first couple weeks in June, I will be visiting a great friend of mine in the state of Washington. Therefore I will not be posting as frequently. Enjoy!

Manly Birthday Cards

I find it very difficult most times to make a "manly" birthday cards. Fortunately the Open Sea and Need for Speed stamp set from Stamping Up! help out A LOT!
I used the Gina K. method of making the background of the sea card look like a "pillow top". I had inspiration for the Need for Speed card but I just cannot find the link to where I got the idea.

Anniversary Cards

I just love this dancing couple, so sweet. This stamp as well as the "Always and Forever" are both from Gina K. Designs. I made both of these cards as Anniversary Cards for two special couples. I really like the way they came out.

Whimsy Birthdays!

As you have probably already noticed, I'm addicted to Whimsy Stamps. Especially the one by Elisabeth Bell. This one is called Blossom Berry Sitting Pretty. I just thought it came out adorable! I made this for a special little girl who turned 12 this year. She really liked it.

This card is also made with a Whimsy Stamp, but it is from the Wee collection. I believe it's called Rosetta. This card is also made for a little girl, and I just adore it! I colored both cards with my trusty Spectrum Noir markers. These are both a little more "frou frou" than what I normally do but perfect for little girls!

Mother's Day Cards

The two pictures below are of Mother's Day cards that I made for my wonderful mother. The one with the Mermaid is a Kiddo stamp. The one with the flowers was with the Gina K stamp set called Holiday Baskets.

Wedding Invitations

This past March my husband and I renewed our vows. We did not have a very big wedding when we first got married due to him being hospitalized after coming home injured from a deployment in Afghanistan. So this past March, on our third anniversary, we decided to renew our vows with our closest friends and family.
In a joint effort my mother (Lena Fonkert) and I came up with these wedding invitations. My colors were Malibu Blue, White, & Silver and these invitations came out just stunning! We used white linen paper as the invitations. The bellyband was created with a Martha Stewart Punch, and the inside and outside of the card was cut using a Marianne Creatable.  Below the invitations is a picture of the RSVP card that we designed as well. We had a wonderful time and are so blessed that we were able to renew our vows and celebrate with our closest friends and family!

A Wild Birthday Card

My Aunt has been visiting from Holland, and she was able to spend her birthday this year with the family in America which was really nice! I used a Gina K's Stamp Set to create this card, along with the Memento Dew Drops Ink to create the sunset. I love, love, love this stamp set and will be making more cards themed like this!

What is Black & White & Red all over?

For my 17 year old brother's birthday this year, I decided to try and make a card that would appeal to his jokester side - whether it be corny or not! hehe

I found this card somewhere on google, and I simple cannot find it again. I would love to attribute the credit for this card to the lady that I saw it through, but I just can not find it ANYWHERE! If you have seen it before, or know who has created it, please let me know so I can add that information in here!

Easter

Yes I know, I'm running just a little behind on the season. I made this card for my grandma who lives in Portugal. This is a stamp that I bought at Archiver's last year, and I have been just dying to use it. It is colored in with Spectrum Noir Markers, and the paper is from Gina K's Wisteria Lane Pack. So here it is:

Happy Birthday - Grandma

When I saw this stamp, I thought of my wonderful Grandma and how much she would just adore this little girl. So for her birthday I featured her in the card. She absolutely loved it! Again, this is colored in with the Spectrum Noir Markers. The sunset is done with the Dew Drops for Memento's Ink Pads.

Sugar & Spice, & Everything Nice

On one of my posts at the end of last year, I had stated to keep an eye out for my newest obsession with Whimsy Stamps - especially Elisabeth Bell's collection! Well, here is one of those sweet little stamps. I colored it in with the Spectrum Noir markers (have I mentioned how FABULOUS THOSE ARE???) This is the first, but trust me when I say that this will not be the last time you see these Whimsy Stamps.

A Simple Thank - You

Hello All!

Wow, it has been a while. I do not believe that  I have shared any of my work since NOVEMBER! Well it sure as been a busy year, I can not believe that we are already in April, where in the world has the time gone? So the reasons for my absence was of course Christmas, and then I started back up with classes, and I was working, AND planning my wedding! Yes, I am already married, but my husband was military and we did not have the "BIG" wedding until our third year anniversary. That took place this past March. My mother and I designed my wedding invitations and it was a joint effort so you will see it posted on both of our blogs very soon! I finally have some time again to start crafting and making cards again, YAY!

So here is a simple thank you card that I made towards the end of last year. I believe that my idea came to me from one of Gina K's cards, but I couldn't remember which one.
