Faery Ink ~ July New Release

Hello there!

So the lovely Amanda has restructured some things around Faery Ink! Instead of having a New Release every month, she has decided to release new images EVERY FRIDAY!

We have also moved over to a new site, and there are no longer monthly challenges over at the blog - Faery Ink

Instead - there are monthly challenges going on the Facebook Group - be sure to pop by and share all things Faery Ink we all love to see them!

Also, the Etsy store is no longer being used but have no fear! You can still purchase your favorite images HERE!

This particular New Image is called: Amber Unicorn Fairy

Here's my take on the image:

How adorable is this image?!? I just had the best time putting this card together. It was just one of those cards that everything comes together perfectly! I was particularly inspired by this image I found on Pinterest. I tried a couple of new things on this image including the fairy wings and the unicorn. It's hard to see the texture on the unicorn but I promise it's there! I followed a wonderful tutorial from Alyce from Kit & Clowder.

LOTV - Birthday Fairy - http://www.liliofthevalley.co.uk/acatalog/Stamp_-_Birthday_Fairy.html

The following supplies were used to make this card:
Pink & Green Cardstock - Stash
Heavenly White 80# Cardstock - The Paper Temptress
*I do all my coloring on this - It's SUPER!*
Flowers - Wild Orchid Crafts
Circle - Cut from the Silhouette

Faery Ink July Inspiration!

Hello Faery Ink fans!

This month's inspirational is a little different than my normal creations. I'll explain why in a few. ;)
For this months inspirational post, I decided to use the Amber Exotic Fowl from the New Release.
I hope that you will take a look at the Faery Ink Store and try your hand at any one of these amazing images.

So - this month I decided to use my colored pencils SOLELY to color this amazing image. I usually only use alcohol markers and very rarely use my pencils but this image inspired me to give it a whirl! I'm actually so pleased with the result! You can add so much more detail with pencils that you could absolutely NEVER get with markers. I will definitely be using these A LOT more often!
If you have been following my monthly inspirations, you have probably seen that I've been working my way though some Fancy Fold cards. This month however I just thought something simple would suit this image perfectly! I used a Tree stamp that I've had forever and stamped it a few times to create the background. I then used my paper to distresser to distress the background paper, and light blue paper - threw in some flowers and sentiment and VIOLA!
Supplies used to make this card:
Blue & Ivory Cardstock - Stash
Watercolor Paper - Canson
Rose Bud - Memento Dew Drop Inks
Toffee Crunch - Memento Dew Drop Inks
Tree Stamp - Stash (Freebie I picked up somewhere)
Pearls - Recollections
Paper Distresser - Tim Holtz
Flowers - Stash
Spectrum Noir Colored Pencils

 Thanks for stopping by today!
