Hey ya Crafty Friends!
Okay, so if you remember from my other posts, one of my New Year's Resolutions was to try new things in the crafty world. Well after many pictures, one-on-one tutorials and lots of inspiration from a fellow DT gal - I decided to try Art Journaling.
Georgie from the Little Blue Craft Box has some gorgeous, and stunning art journal pages, and if you haven't checked them out - you ought to!
So here is what I came up with:
The page in it's entirety!

I used the Theo butterfly die from Poppy Stamps to create a stencil and ending up adding a die cut too!
I used a vareity of teals, purples, and even some royal blue Apple Barrel Acrylic paints to create the background. I used a sponge to sponge white paint around the edges. I also used - BUBBLE WRAP - to create the dark blue texture in the page. That was very new for me but I really liked the effect. The quote says "Blossom Like a Butterfly" - For me it was perfect not only for the image but for me at the moment as well. I'm "blossoming" as a crafter. I definitely had a lot of fun putting this one together and think I will continue to art journal a little more!
I hope you enjoyed this and I would love any and all feedback.
Hi Samantha! I found you through Crafty Gals tonight. :o) Your work is lovely and I'm happy to be your newest follower. Your art journal page is gorgeous and I love how it so beautifully reflects your current crafty state. :o) The stamp is so pretty and I love the detailing throughout your project. You should be very proud of your first page. :o) Have a happy night!

You know I love this page, but wanted to say it again and glad you really enjoyed making it, art journalling does get addictive though (this is the warning label!! - lol). Thanks for the shout out too xx
ReplyDeleteOh Wow!!! This looks fabulous! I can't believe it's your first art journal page. The image is beautiful and the colouring is amazing. All the other colours and textures and details you added complement each other beautifully. I can't wait to see more of your art journalling!
